Protection contre la corrosion

This is what happens to a scratch on cold galvanized steel with RUST-ANODE®. The zinc layer of the RUST-ANODE® product sacrifices zinc to protect the steel underneath. This protection continues until there is no more zinc in the immediate area of the scratch.

Peinture antirouille pour acier oxydé

Here’s what happens to a scratch on painted steel. The steel then exposed to the environment, corrodes and forms a pocket of rust. Since the rust is larger than steel, the pocket swells and the paint rises, forming a blister.
Corrosion and blistering continue to creep and develop.

What is RUST-ANODE® ?

RUST-ANODE® is an anti-corrosion treatment that prevents and/or stops complitely the steel’s corrosion.
RUST-ANODE® is an organic, zinc (99.995% pure), single-component coating that contains 96% zinc in a dry coat (DFT); it forms an electrochemical bond with the steel’s surface.
RUST-ANODE® provides galvanic anode cathodic protection by providing the same level of anti-rust protection as hot dip galvanizing. How does cold galvanizing work ? ➔ How does cold galvanizing work ?
RUST-ANODE® is a ready-to-use, easy-to apply single-component paint.
The cold galvanizinc RUST-ANODE® process has been used successfully since 1954

Protection with the usual anti rust paint

With time, those porocess mainly with the usual anti rust paints decompose and crack. The rust spreads under the paint layer and finally the rust will lift the paint layer up and will cause further rust forming.

Why is the cold galvanizing RUST-ANODE® more interessant than the anti rust paint ?

  • RUST-ANODE® and RUST-ANODE PRIMER® are an alternative to hot dip galvanizing
  • The RUST-ANODE® process fully binds to the substrate and does not deteriorate over time
  • The RUST-ANODE® process fully binds to the substrate and does not deteriorate over time
  • RUST-ANODE® is recommended to extend the life of steel structures
  • RUST-ANODE® prevents corrosion of steel in two ways:
    • by forming a bulk physical barrier.
    • by cathodic protection.

RUST-ANODE® is mainly used on towers and steel structures
RUST-ANODE PRIMER ® is used in several applications in the industry where very aggressive elements of corrosion prevail e.g. cement factories, paper mills, breweries, refrigerating halls, etc.
